This website collects almost nothing
No cookies. No analytics. No tracking pixels. No contact form. Nothing is loaded from any third party — no fonts, no scripts, no embeds. The only personal data involved is the standard access log your visit leaves on our web server, described below. There is nothing to opt out of, which is why you see no cookie banner.
Who is behind this website
MentX is being built by Nicolas Catrysse and Maarten Verschuere. We are in pre-startup phase: MentX is not yet a registered company, so there is no company number or VAT number to publish here yet. This page will be replaced with a full legal notice, including company identification, as soon as the entity is incorporated.
Until then, the responsible person for this website is Nicolas Catrysse, reachable by LinkedIn message at linkedin.com/in/nicolas-catrysse. We deliberately publish no email address on this site — it is the simplest way to keep the address out of the hands of address-harvesting crawlers. A LinkedIn message reaches us directly and we answer it.
What is collected when you visit
Only what any web server records in order to serve a page and stay secure. For each request:
- your IP address
- the date and time of the request
- the page or file requested, and the response status
- the referring page, if your browser sends one
- your browser and operating system identification (user agent)
An IP address counts as personal data under the GDPR, so we name it here explicitly. We use these logs for two things only: keeping the site running and defending it against attacks and abuse. We do not use them to build profiles, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Logs are kept for a short period — currently 14 days — and are then deleted automatically. They are not shared with anyone, and they are not used for marketing.
No cookies, no analytics, no third parties
This website sets no cookies of any kind, not even functional ones. It runs no analytics software. It contains no JavaScript at all. Every image and stylesheet is served from our own server, and the typefaces are the ones already installed on your device — so your browser never contacts Google Fonts, a content delivery network, an advertising network or any other outside party while you read these pages.
The practical consequence: nobody except us — and only through the access log described above — learns that you visited.
Links to LinkedIn
Every call to action on this site is a link to Nicolas's LinkedIn profile. Those links are ordinary links: nothing is sent to LinkedIn until you click one, and no LinkedIn code runs on this website. Once you follow the link you are on LinkedIn's platform, where LinkedIn's own privacy policy applies. If you then send us a message, we keep that conversation inside LinkedIn and use it only to answer you and, if it goes that way, to arrange an intro call.
Where the site is hosted
This website is hosted in the European Union, on infrastructure rented from Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). No data from this website is transferred outside the EU.
This page is about the website — not about the MentX product
Two different things, and worth keeping apart. This page covers only your visit to mentx.be. It does not describe how the MentX platform handles a customer's knowledge, meetings or expert profiles — that is a separate matter, governed by a data-processing agreement signed before any capture starts, and described on our trust and governance page. If you are evaluating MentX for your company, that page and the intake agreement are what you want, not this one.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Given how little this website collects, in practice this means the server access log described above.
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask anything at all about this page, send Nicolas a message on LinkedIn. We answer personally. If you would rather not use LinkedIn, ask us there for an email address and we will give you one directly — we simply do not publish it on a public page.
In Belgium the supervisory authority is the Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
Changes to this page
If this website ever gains a contact form, an analytics tool or anything that sets a cookie, this page changes first and says so plainly. As it stands, we prefer keeping the site this simple: it is the honest version of the claim we make everywhere else on this site about handling data carefully.
